Summer Slow Down!

If the mood strikes Kieran likes to grab his cars and bring them downstairs or sneak up to his room to play tractors/farm or trains.  I love the fact that because he's talking more clear.  It's fun to listen to him make his characters talk to each other.
We've been working on colors with Kieran.  It's coming around really slowly.  I've wondered a few times if he is color blind.   Kidding....I don't think he is, but he seems to maybe have red and green down, but nothing I've noticed consistency with.

Last Saturday there was an event at a Fargo park and Buddy the dinosaur was there from the cartoon that Kieran loves called Dinosaur Train.  He got super excited to see him, but then he wouldn't take a picture with him.  He didn't get scared just wouldn't go all of the way up to him.  They both got to spray a real fire hose, got balloons, had a snack, saw a real snake, played on the playground, and finally got to pick out a free book before it started to rain and we had to run to the car.
Hailey, our neighbor also had her birthday party at the Holiday Inn pool.  To say Svea had a blast would be a huge understatement.  She literally had a meltdown when it was time to go.  I thought she'd be freaked out about the deep water and would stick to the shallow pool so I didn't wear my swimsuit and I regretted it so bad.  Hailey's dad Tony was in the pool and she demanded his time and he was a good sport.  He brought her out to the deep water, got her to let go of him/tread water, and swim a bit with her fancy new life jacket on. He calls her his swimming buddy now and she tells anyone who will listen that she can swim now and "Tony teached me"!
It's a far away picture, but there are the two monkeys!  Kieran was still sick so he had to stay home with Dad.  Gaga happened to be in town too so she had a great time watching Svea have so much too!
I ran to get a water for one of the kids when Kieran was still sick and I walked in to Svea reading to Kieran a Strawberry Shortcake book.  I posted the video on facebook.  It melted my heart!
Here's Kieran reading to himself at the event at the park.  I love love how much he loves books!
Svea playing with the balloons after our event.  Lots of imagination that girl has! Those balloons had many different roles.
I think this one might have been a hot air balloon??
My sweet girl!
Now with Dad!
Check out Kieran in his superman underwear over his shorts.  He's quite stylish don't you think?
Cute!
And of course....she always asks to do a silly face at the end of any photo session.  It is her ultimate favorite.  She definitely takes after her Daddy....and her cousin Jill.  It's in her genes to do this!
Other than that we've been playing in our own backyard with the trampoline and water table.  We've been to the wade pool twice.  Kieran can touch on the deeper side too.  They've been loving that.  K gets a little cold and tuckers out before she does. I braved Target with both of them just today to get him some swim diapers.  He peed in it before we could leave the house and wanted it changed right away.  He didn't like it, which gave me hope for potty training.  I keep asking him if he wants to wear his underwear or sit on the potty and I get a big fat NO!  I just have to share this phrase he said the other morning.  When I mentioned going to the park in Fargo he thought I meant the park by our house.  He said, "No Yay-ya, we are not going to the park.  We are eating lunch"!
