Three Things to be Happy For!

Spring! It's finally here and these flowers outside of our house are gorgeous!

Finally 98% Finished

So here are our after picture of the new countertops and dining room table. Dan has a few finishing touches to work on, but none that you could see in a picture. I am still very impressed! He did a nice job, don't you think? He'll start working on the new backsplash next. Dan is slowly turning into a handyman!

Random Thoughts From The Dornfelds

-Synod Assemblies do not become more engaging or exciting as time goes on....zzzzzzz!
-I'm so sick of judgemental people (not saying I'm perfect) thinking they're on a moral high ground just because they are heterosexual...tired of it!
-I know I always count down weeks left of school, but I will probably never stop...so, 7 weeks counting this one!
-We are realizing that our yard duties are approaching quickly. Dan already sprayed for weeds, grass, etc. It's a big job and we for the most part enjoy it...well, maybe 60%:)
-That's about all we've got for right now:)

Busy, Busy!

Here is an update on what Dan has been up to at our house the past 5 days, with a few more to come. I can't deny that I am very excited for it to be complete as we both hate having the house this dirty. On the other hand I'm very proud of him for tackling something he's never done before. When he started this past weekend I escaped for a nice trip to Jamestown to see my Mom and Ron. Meeko came too and always dominated Rupert in wrestling in many, many matches. I had a great time at home while my husband slaved away at home working on what you see below.

Yes, this is granite tile that Dan has done all by himself. It's almost there. I'll post another picture when it's complete and we clean. This is just our reality right now...lots of chaos and clutter. Poor Meeko is living in the basement for a few more days.

Random

Dan wanted me to show his mom a picture of our new living room changes so I posted it here, but FIRST I have a few photos of Dan and Meeko. Awwwwww:) If i'm hogging the little couch too much and he can't fit with me, he immediately snuggles up to Dan. So sweet!



p.s. I know this picture is not up to par on Dan's standards as I have a waterbottle and a computer in it. Sorry sweetie:) Have fun in Wisconsin!!!

Easter

Today in Audrey's sermon she threw out some statistics on the percentages of Christians who don't know that Easter is about Jesus' resurrection. I can't remember the exact number (sorry), but it was quite high. It made me sad because people don't know exactally what the day means and knowing this amazing fact is that in itself....amazing! I wish this gift of knowledge for everyone. Each Easter season it of course hits me more.....the amazing love that Christ had for us to do what he did. It is the ultimate gift of mercy! Happy Easter!
