Mother's Day

Today marks a very important day for me.  It's now an ever lasting precious reminder of the job I was given.  A job that is proving to be my hardest one yet.  A job that is one of the most rewarding too.  It's a reflection of everything you do wrong (how your children misbehave), yet everything you do right (when they are polite and sweet and think of others first).  

This day is so important to me.  It means that I am a Mom.  I always wanted to  be a wife and a mom.  When I was fearful that I may never be either I would pray to God and tell him I know in my heart I am supposed to be part of a family with children of my own.  I promised him I would be the best person I could be for my family. I don't always live up to that, but God knew I never would.  He gave me my family anyway.

When I would dream about my future it was always in short moments of what my family might be like.  A glimpse of smiles, the softest sound of laughter echoing, the quality time of enjoying each other. The best gift on this Mother's Day are watching my kids laugh and smile and seeing them grow. I don't need anything, but big hugs and love from those that think I'm doing an ok job. 

This is my Mom. I know being a Mom to her is her biggest gift and accomplishment. I know it was, is, and will always be her hardest job. I know she sometimes failed, but that no matter what happened, her intentions were always out of love. I know she dreamed about me, prayed, and wished she could be my Mom. I can only hope that I make her proud as a Mom today. 

The only thing I want to do on a day like Mother's day is to spend time with her and thank her.  To give her a big hug and say I thought she did, is, and will always be more than just ok. I owe a lot to her.  She taught me how to be a Mom. I love you Mom......

I also want to point out that I am praying for and thinking about all of those "Moms" out  there that don't have their children yet.  I am praying for those "Moms" who want more than anything to be a Mom, but for whatever reason your children are not here yet.  I know what that feels like and how fearful it feels. God gave most of us this intense desire to mother children....I pray he makes that happen soon. 

Thank You Gaga!

Whether it was taking Svea outside to play, helping rock Kieran to sleep, telling me the hormones will pass, or helping keep up around the house, we just wanted to thank you Mom for all of your help.  I seriously was so thankful that you were here when Dan went back to work.  I know I would/could take care of two kids under two, but it's nice to have it postponed as long as possible....at least until I can get more sleep:) We miss and love you!

Gaga

It all started at around 14 months.  Svea started calling Grandma Beth "Gaga" and we're not sure why or how she came up with it, but she did.  Gaga she has been ever since.  I think I heard the name "Gaga" about 100 times last week as Svea demanded Gaga's attention almost constantly.  She didn't even want me for very much the first two days!  Thank you Gaga for coming to stay with us while Dan was away.  It turned out it was for the best that you were here.  I'm not able to do as much around the house and with the little girl or else I end up having contractions so we are SO thankful you were here.  Svea loves you and we do too.  It's crazy to think that the next time we call her to come visit will be because we are in labor!  Eeek! 

Happy Birthday Weekend

We hadn't been to Jamestown since October and it was my Mom's birthday so Svea and I headed there for the weekend:)  Dan had a lock-in, city wide garbage drop off, church, and lots of projects at home to work on.  He had a busy weekend! It was my Mom's birthday on Friday (Happy Birthday) and we just stayed in the whole weekend.  It was rainy, windy, and cold and I just loved playing at home all weekend.

Svea had a great time with Grandpa and Gaga.  She was very excited to see them when we got there on Thursday night.  She immediately said Gaga and got a little upset when my Mom went to my car to get some bags.  She was so good.  I only had to tell her one time that the stairs  and kitty were "icky" and she stayed away from them the rest of the weekend.  Gaga had all kinds of new toys and she had a blast with her shopping cart, airplane, and washing machine/dryer. 

She loved hanging out with Grandpa too.  She kept repeating this phrase that we couldn't quite make out.  "Grandpa blah ga blah ga too".  Someday we'll figure it out!  Here she is lounging around with Grandpa!

Thank you Mom and Ron for a great weekend.  It was extremely relaxing and fun!

I wanted to do something fun for your birthday post. First I tried to play a video of the #1 song on the day of your birth, but it wasn't very good. Then I tried calling Grandma to find out details from that day. She couldn't remember how much you weighed...just that you were 7 lbs something and you were her smallest baby. She couldn't remember if you were born during the morning or afternoon, but she said you were almost born in the car because Grandpa was so pokey in coming home from the drug store! So, I figure I'll just say Happy Birthday Mom! Hope you have a great day and I'll see you Mother's Day weekend!!!

I'm working on the shutterfly book TONIGHT!  Finally:)  I promise it will be done soon.  You've waited long enough:)  So soon, soon, soon, you'll have a package waiting for you in your mailbox;)

As of 9:00 pm.....I'm halfway done!

As of tonight (12-27) it's in the mail!
