7 Months Old

Whew!  This past month has flown by.  We've had so much fun this past month Svea.  We are starting to get more glimpses into who you are.  You love to laugh and giggle, scream, talk, and play.  Chew.....where are those teeth?  You've really been gnawing on anything you can't get your mouth around the past few days....but those teeth are holding out!

-You wear size 3-6 month clothes, but we'll move over to your 6-9 very soon.
-You wear a size 2 diaper and a size 3 at night
-You are sleeping through the night! You have a 7 oz. bottle at 8:00 pm/sleeping by 8:30 and wake-up anywhere from 7 am to 8 am. 
-You eat 5 oz. every three hours during the day and eat cereal, veggies, and a small amount of fruit one time a day, usually in the late afternoon right when we get home
-You are down to 2-3 naps a day.  You'll sleep anywhere from 1/2 hour to 1 and a 1/2 hours

 -You giggle, smile, coo, talk, and scream at the "puppy"!  Meeko gets big smiles too, but Riker still makes you the most happiest
-You get so excited when Mom or Dad walk in the room, you'll kick your legs and smile and talk to us.
-You now can roll back to tummy and tummy to back consistently.  We are still working on sitting on your own....maybe this month:)  You'll play on your tummy now for a long time.  You're very strong and we're amazed at the heavier toys that you can pick up.  You're also getting strong enough to find your paci wherever it is in the crib and stuff it in your mouth.
-You put yourself to sleep and are getting very good at soothing yourself. We have your bedtime routine down.  Part of it includes reading you two books after your bottle.  No matter how tired you are you always at least sit for the first one "Ten in a Bed".  Mommy sings it to you and you always get this little smirky smile on your face.  Starting May 24th you are not even waking up in the middle of the night to cry...you sleep right through! 

Svea, we can't believe you are already 7 months old/over half a year!  Time goes so fast, but we don't take one second for granted.  We love you and you've brought so much fun and joy to our family.  We thank God for you everyday...you are a blessing:)

Tub Time

You can't tell from this picture, but she really loves her baths.  Maybe she had this unhappy face because it was time to get out.  If you look really close Daddy tried to make her a mini mohawk:)

Sunday Fun Day!

It's been a rainy weekend, but it's also been a fun one. We've managed to sneak out once yesterday afternoon and catch a quick walk. Riker has been coming with these days. We found a trick that makes him walk nice along the stroller. I love this dress on Svea. When I first bought it Dan didn't like it, but today he thought she looked so cute. I think I could bring her to church in a paper bag and he'd oh and aw at her!

 I love watching her think!  She's thinking about this flower right now, but she's been thinking a lot about rolling from tummy to back this weekend.  She is now doing it consistently! I'm kind of freaking out about how little time we have left to baby proof the house before she's all over the place!

This and That

I'm so sorry, but I don't have a picture of Svea this post.  I had one, but I can't get it off my camera for some reason and I've got too many chores and dvr tv shows to get caught up on right now:)  Dan is watching the final episode from Smallville and I'm sitting by the open window breathing in some fresh air while watching our little one quietly suck on her paci and put herself to sleep.

I just wanted to shout it from the rooftops that Svea slept from 8:30 pm last night until 6:00 am this morning....straight!  She babbled and cooed for awhile, but eventually put herself back to sleep again until around 8:00 am.  I have a new record...count them....6 and a 1/2 hours of sleep in one stretch.  I felt like those bags under my eyes are just a little bit lighter this morning...whew!  I had a kick in my step today:)

Svea has started to figure out the little ocean scene player in her crib.  She can now scoot herself over to it and turn it on with her feet.  We usually turn it on right away in the morning after she's awake to bide a few more minutes of teeth brushing and she loves it.  We've been walking every night that it's nice outside and she usually takes a little catnap while we do. Nothing much else is new.  I have 10 days left of work before break and Dan continues to do a great job leading our church, not to mention he's a top of the line Dad....I appreciate him so much!  He and Svea have been walking to daycare in the mornings...so cute!

I'll try to get some good pictures taken this weekend to post...I know, I know, it's been over three days:)

We Have a New Roof!!!

Thank you to my Dad, my Uncle Scott, and Frankie for helping give us a new roof! We were definitely in need of a new roof this year so these guys came out this weekend and helped us.  Dan helped as well.  Svea had fun seeing her Grandpa and Great-Uncle Scott.  I felt bad though...we didn't have any tv and the guys wanted to watch the twins.  Our satellite had to be taken down to roof and when they tried to put it back up again it didn't work.  Thank goodness we have the theater system downstairs and netflix streaming:)

Masters Complete!

Thursday night I presented my masters action research project to the three person panel to receive my masters in Education Leadership from St. Mary's University! I started at 5:30 p.m and they told me congratulations at 6:25 p.m.....it was a good day. This is what I came home to....a very happy baby and a complimentary husband! Thank you honey for supporting me through a long two years! Love ya lots!

Happy Mother's Day

 I never knew if becoming a mother would ever happen for me or not.  Going through our journey to become parents was very trying.  Each month that we didn't get pregnant was filled with more grief and anxiety that it may never happen. God gave us this special gift and I'm so proud to be a Mom.  It is the best thing I've ever done and I enjoy everyday with this little girl.  She makes our lives so much richer and wonderful. I LOVE being a Mom. Even though I feel like my heart is bursting with joy, it is still a little heavy today thinking about all of the friends I have right now that are yearning for another child or to become a mother for the first time.  I know that pain all too well, and the agony this day brings.  So I wanted to remember those mothers too, the ones that aren't mothers, yet, but hopefully will be someday soon. I am thinking about you today.

Svea was again, so good in church.  I'm waiting for the shoe to drop:)  We came home, Dan made us lunch, she's napping now, and we are having a wonderful Mother's Day at home listening to rain and relaxing...good day:) Happy Mother's Day to our mom's too!  We LOVE YOU!

Sippy Cup Time

Can you believe it!  Our pediatrician said Svea should start practicing with a sippy cup with a little bit of water in it.  She probably won't be able to get the liquid out yet, but here she is already mastering bringing it to her mouth.

The 8th Dwarf

I put my hat on her the other day.........I think she looks like one of the seven dwarfs.  What do you think?  She's about the right size:)

6 Month Check-Up

Svea' 1/2 birthday stats are in:)  We had her six month check-up this afternoon and Dan and I were both able to be there.  She is an average baby in height, weight, and head size, but the doctor said she's exceptional in personality, charisma, intelligence, cuteness, and lovability!  Ha!  The dr. didn't really say that, but we came away with that conclusion.  She is now 16 lbs. 2 oz (51%) and 26 inches long (57%).  I forget the measurement of her head, but it's in the 50 percentile now.  We have some new things we'll try with her after this appt., but that's another post.  Here's a picture of her tonight eating sweet potatoes after we got home.

New Friend

Svea has a new friend by the name of Riker!  She's been slowly realizing there are two other living bodies wandering around our house other than Mom and Dad, but lately they've been making her laugh.  We just stand in the middle of the room holding her and she giggles as one of the animals walks by.  She especially LOVES Riker though, so here are a few pictures of them interacting together today.
