Dan in Real Life

No, this isn't about our Dan, but about the movie.  Thanks to Dean and Kathy, my mom, Dan, and me enjoyed this the other night when my mom came to town for an early Easter celebration.

At first we felt bad for Dan, but then he made us laugh, and in the end overall it was a good movie. I'm not a very good movie critic.  I usually just think they are either good or bad.  So, there you go....this one was good.

I still think about the first movie I watched with Dan's parents though....Little Miss Sunshine.  That one still brings a smile to my face every time I think of the part where she's competing in the pageant and she dedicates her moves to her Grandpa who's in the trunk!

Lazy Day!

Today I just happened to get a picture of all three of these guys in the same area at the same time, without Suki running away!  Meeko could care less if Riker is around, but she actually stayed put long enough for me to get a shot of the cats taking over the couch and Riker looking nervous as usual.  I'm surprised he sat still long enough as well.  As soon as Dan leaves the house, I swear, ghosts must come and scare him on purpose.  He's been jumpy and barking at the air!

The Great American Bike Race

So my coworker and friend, Kristen, asked me to join her in the Great American Bike Race.  It's a fundraiser for kids with cerebral palsy.  There are ten members on a team and each teammate gets 30 minutes on the bike.  It used to be held at the women's health center, but now it's so big its held in one of the high school gyms.  Some people pledge so much money per mile you ride during that 30 minutes and some people just make a flat donation.  If you are interested in making a donation or want to check out the site feel free.  I can generally ride anywhere from 10-13 miles in that time so that might help;)  We have a little guy at my school right now that has cp....he's SO cute and fun.  I wish I could tell you more about him or show you his picture, but for confidentiality reasons I can't.  You'll have to take my word for it.  I believe the money goes to helping families of kids that have afford adaptive equipment so that they can function as normally as possible in their everyday lives.

Red Lodge

Here's a few pics from Red Lodge. We had PERFECT weather out in Montana. The first day the snow was decent and it got up to 47 degrees. We sat on the deck and ate burgers at lunchtime. The sun felt so good! By the end of the day the snow was getting a little slushy so my hopes for the next day were not so good........And then......oh it just snowed 11 inches overnight. The powder was great and just enough/not too much. Dan tried getting a picture of me coming down the mountain, but he kept taking 2 second movies instead! Ha! It was funny! Our Good Shepherd Kids were great.....we had a blast with them while getting to know a few more that we didn't know all that well. I just wish that Bismarck was where Fargo is (close to the lakes) and Jamestown was Red Lodge....also Minneapolis would be Fairwater/Brandon too.....that would be a perfect world!
