Predicaments

Little Miss has been all over since we got home.  She's definitely in exploring mode. Here are just some of the predicaments she's gotten herself into!

10 Months Old

Sorry this post is so late!  We were in the cities on the 27th visiting the Andersons and got home late:)  Svea wasn't as smiley when we took her pictures.  Ok, wait for it, we REALLY think she may actually be teething!  I know we've been saying that for MONTHS.....but she's drooling all over the place and I have seen the very tip of one corner of a tooth, but I think it's snuggled back down into her gums.  We'll see what happens:)

Svea- Here's what you've been up to this month!  You're crawling all over the place and pulling yourself up.  You've also started to walk along the furniture.  You seem to love your new found independence and have no problems playing with your toys by yourself as long as Mom or Dad are in the room.  You are really starting to love books.  You interact with them as we read to you.

You are understanding what we do and say better as well.  Mommy always takes your paci out after she lifts you out of the crib and says "bye-bye paci".  Just the other day Mommy said these words and you ripped the paci out of your own mouth and threw it in your crib!  It was so cute.  We are working on Mama, Dada and some baby sign language.  "More" is what we are hoping you'll understand soon!

You are wearing 6-9 month clothes, although it is time to move you on to 9-12 month clothes.  We received some clothes that Ashlyn, Hannah, and Elizabeth all wore and we are excited for you to wear them! You wear a size 3 diaper, nurse 4 times a day and eat solids 3 times a day. When you do drink from a bottle you'll drink 5 oz. at a time.

You are still putting yourself to sleep at night and usually sleep 12 to 13 hours. (8:30-8:30 or 9:30).  Mommy is loving that you are sleeping in so late this summer! You are transitioning to one nap a day from 12:30-2:00.  You're not a huge napper, but like to sleep more at night.  At bedtime when we read you "I See Me", a book full of mirrors you always look behind the book on the page that talks about peak-a-boo.  Mommy always has a little bear there ready to peak-a-boo you.  On the last page it says for you to kiss the baby goodnight and 8 times out of 10 you will lean down and kiss yourself in the mirror.

You love to laugh at the puppy.  We take him outside and throw his tennis ball and you giggle so hard at him running around.  You are starting to pull the kitty's tail so he usually runs away when he sees you coming.  We still get comments on what a happy baby you are.  You always know everything that is going on and interact with people all around you. 
 This is such a fun age with you.  We are loving how silly you are.  We can't believe that in two short months you will be one!  We love you so very much!

What Happens in Vegas...Comes Back in Pictures!

Let's just say that after 72 hours in Vegas and only 15 of them being for sleep an amazingly fun time was had by all!  All would include 12 of us girls all there to celebrate Jill's upcoming nuptials.  Day 1:Pam and I arrived around 10 pm at night, hopped a shuttle to our hotel, got ready, and the rest of the crew picked us up where we ended up at a club for rooftop dancing...my favorite! I LOVE to dance and one thing that I always hate is when the lights come on at 1:00 am telling everyone to go home.  I can usually dance all night so Vegas is perfect for me!  Ha!  We stayed out till 4 am dancing.....so much fun! I forgot to mention that yes, my best friend Pamela came along because she knows Jill, enjoys girls trips to Vegas, and the more the merrier! 

Day 2: The ten girls that were there the night before Pam and I attended a work-out class that got us all in to all kinds of places for free all weekend.  One of them was a pool party hosted by Snooki.  Vienna and Kasey from Bachelor Pad were there...I saw them from across the pool.  For those of you who watch it I tried getting a sneak peak at the awesome "guard and protect your heart" tattoo, but he was just a little too far away for that!

That night we got ready and headed to an awesome Sushi restaurant...oh, it was sooo good!

And if you can believe it we actually came home around 2:30 am this night.  And yes, we were having a little too much fun!

Day 3: We did a little shopping, then hung out at a more laid back pool for about 7 hours!  We thought we were going to take it easy this night just walking the strip, but we ended up dancing again until 4 in the morning...you only live once I guess:)

Wisconsin Fun!

We had a nice week long vacation in Wisconsin this past week.  I made sure this time to get pictures of the four generations on either side of Dan's family.  It was Grandma Janet's 88th birthday party.  I missed it this time, but Dan said Svea had a blast meeting all of the little cousins and Grandma Kathy I'm sure enjoyed showing her off as well!

 It was also Grandpa Howard's 88th Birthday and there was a celebration at the nursing home where he lives...not for his birthday, but for everyone and their families.  Howard had a really good day and enjoyed meeting Svea for the second time.  He said by 10 she'd be a heart breaker, but I'm hoping for a little bit later!


I was also able to get a few shots of Svea with her cousins.  We visited Stuart and Megan in Pulaski, which is a suburb of Green Bay.  Stuart just got a new call there and they had just been in their house for one week when we arrived.  Thank you Hannah for  giving up your room for us!  We roasted marshmallows, had some adult time and visited the zoo.  We also were able to check out their new church and we are so excited for this new adventure for them.

Svea got to hang out with Ashlyn and Shay a lot.  This was the best picture I was able to get the morning that we left.  I had the camera with me in Vegas so I didn't have too many opportunities. While I was gone Dan and Svea had dinner at the Otto's and spent lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa!  It was really sweet how Grandpa would immediately come find Svea after arriving home from work. And it's a good thing we do use Skype so much because Svea knew Grandma Kathy right away and was always happy in her arms:)

Overall it was a great trip, although it always goes by way too fast!

So Big!

I worked on this video on the plane on my way to Las Vegas for my cousin jill's bachelorette party. It helped to ease the ache of leaving our little girl to watch her over and over. Thank you to my wonderful husband for taking are of her. although I worry about her, because how could I not, I know she is in fantastic hands with e Dad. Not all dads are as involved with their kids as Dan is! Thank you for being such a great Dad. The icing on the cake is she also has grandma and grandpa Dornfeld helping with her too. First Birthday Preview

Dan has been making endless fun of me for planning Svea's first birthday party.  Not about the theme or anything, but just because I started thinking about it when she was two weeks old.  It goes quick you know!  Anyway, here's a sneak peak as to what I've got up my sleeve:)
