Wordless Wednesday (Mommy's Boots This Time)

It Never Gets Old...

 

....dressing this little one up for church on Sundays!  She wore her bow the whole time today at church.  I was so surprised! We made it for 20 minutes and then enjoyed the nursery:)

16 Months

Clothes:Size 12-18 months.  We are just now transitioning you over to the 18 month sleepers, but they are way too long!
Shoes: size 3 shoes
Diapers: size 4

Sleep:You are still sleeping about 12 hours from 8 pm.-8 am.  We love it and hope it continues!  You nap during the afternoon once anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours.  It is VERY rare for you to have a long nap.  Svea, you have your Daddy's sleep habits.
Teeth: 6 Teeth (two bottom/four top)  You have three molars coming in at once.  Two on the top and one on the bottom.  Poor thing they have been giving you some troubles from time to time.

Traveling: We went to Wisconsin Dells with Daddy's family!  You enjoyed swimming, playing with your cousins, and snuggling with Grandma!
Talking:New words you have added this month are yep, yah, up, down, and apple.  It is hilarious to listen to you say apple.  It is most definitely your favorite fruit and even pears are apples to you. You've also started signing please when we do it first.  We are working on helping you know when to say please now:)

Favorite Activity: playing with your mega blocks or any type of blocks.  You love to build a high tower "up, up, up" you will say. You get so excited when we bring up blocks.  You'll run to your room to the drawer that holds them and make what we call the big O face of excitement.

Favorite Books:You enjoy so many books it's hard to narrow down a couple, but Mommy took you to the library the other day and you had the best time.  We checked out a couple of kitty books and you are obsessed with them this past weekend. You got a couple of free books and prizes for reading 1,000 books before Kindergarten too! They also have a little house at the library for kids to sit in and read.  You marched right in and sat on the little couch and laughed.  There were as underwater scene painted on the walls and you immediately started doing your "glub, glub" sounds and hand motions for fish!  Very cute!
Favorite Foods: Applesauce, peas, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, and Greek yogurt.  You are very slowly opening up your variety of foods you will eat.  Just this past month you've become more open to broccoli!

Foods Disliked: Carrots! Yuk Mommy!

 Favorite Songs: Sometimes Mommy will sing you Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes and you think that's funny, but you especially like it when we play songs from our ipods.  You love to dance so much.  We are so impressed with your rhythm and the beat you can keep with different songs.

Dislikes: Getting your diaper changed right before bed!  Yikes....that's a tough one!

Favorite Word: Mom and Dad....you are constantly calling us by name, which we love although apple might surpass us.  Recently you will repeat this word over and over!  You still struggle with the "p" sound and it is so funny.  You get a cute little smile on your face each time we praise you for saying this word.

Things we are learning: how to jump!  You swing your arms, bend your knees, and jump!  You can't get your feet off the ground so sometimes you will lift one leg while you do this. You are also getting pretty good and blowing your nose.  You try to do this all by yourself when we give you a kleenex, but if we put a tissue up to your nose and say blow you do try.  Sometimes you get it and sometimes you suck in.  We're not sure if you just picked it up from watching us or if its' something Lynda taught you at daycare.

 For some reason she loves "jumping" on this blanket.  She'll run over to the chair and have us lay it out on the ground so she can practice her skills!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along:17 Weeks!

Total Weight Gain: 6 lbs.

 Maternity Clothes:Yep, I look much more "pregnant" than rolly poly with the belly band and maternity shirts.  My dress pants need the belly band, but the maternity pants were just too big and frumpy looking.  My girlfriend asked me one day when I had them on, "what is up with my pants"!  We're really close and I laughed and said do you mean, "what in the hell are you wearing"?  She said ya...we laughed:)  I went back to the band:) My size W28/L31 jeans still fit though!  This baby is so high my lower belly is about the same.  When I lay on my back and use the doppler to listen to him there is this big bulge way up by my belly button and my lower belly is almost flat.  This baby is going to carry high so I'm prepping for the heartburn to start sooner than last time and the rib kicks, which I never had with Svea.

Best Moment this week: Finding out our little baby is a he...a beautiful baby boy! His profile is SO similar to his sisters.  It'll be fun to see how much they look like each other.

Gender:Yep, I was right!  All boy!

Movement: Here and there...little flutters that make me smile:)

Food Craving: Cheerios and more cheerios! Gotta have a bowl or two before bed!

What I miss: Nothing, except maybe my stellar immune system.  I've started my fourth cold.

Sleep: Good with some crazy weird dreams!

What we are looking forward to: Feeling more consistent movement

Symptoms:tired, the gagging is easing up a bit, peeing a lot, and teenage acne....yikes..this little boy's testosterone is doing a number on my skin:)

Picture Dump

It's been awhile since I've posted some new photos of Svea, so I've got a whole bunch of photos from the last week to share.

 Svea sat and hugged Dan's leg the other day when he was on his way out the door for a meeting.

 She was having a fun time trying on Mommy's gloves after church last Sunday! 

I finally got a picture of her on her horse!

We are all doing well:)  Svea is working on cutting her first molar so some nights she does great and some nights a little tylenol is all she needs to help her sleep comfortably.  Her newest trick is this silly babble she does and my Mom caught in on her iPad this weekend, but I forgot to upload it to youtube before she left. I'll see if I can talk her through uploading it my account through the phone.  I am doing well...just tired.  Working on re-newing my gym membership now that I got a greener light from the dr. to do a few more activities after our appt.  Dan is starting to be a part of some more interviews and we are very excited and what is coming in the future with a new pastor and their family!!

16 Weeks With Baby D #2

So the revealing moment has come!  We were lucky enough to find out today at our ultrasound.  Everything with baby looked great and we are super happy to announce that we are having a boy!  I am now 2-2 in correctly and instinctively guessing what our children are.  The ultrasound tech was looking around and just happened to get the perfect leg shot from below.  I immediately said, well it's a boy and Dan was not a second behind me in saying the same thing!  The ultrasound tech was impressed and she said, "If that's not a boy, then I need to find a new job".  With that and what we saw we are quite sure little baby is indeed a boy!

I texted my Mom that we couldn't find out and baby wasn't showing its parts.  She was at home watching  Svea so I went and got a few balloons to bring home for Svea.  I surprised them both with actually knowing the secret when I got home.  It was a fun little way to make it a little more exciting. My Mom has had a total of three dreams about this baby.  One of them was when I was pregnant with Svea, the next one right before Svea's first birthday (before we were pregnant), and then one more after finding out I was pregnant.  In all of them there was this little boy present.  I'll never forget her now prophetic comment at Svea's first birthday party that was something to the fact that she thought Dan and I would have another baby close to Svea and it would be a boy.  I laughed because we were talking about just getting the fertility process started sometime after Christmas and thought it would be a ways off if it would even happen.  Ha!  We are so so so very excited about our little boy!!!

Is Baby Dornfeld #2 A Boy or Girl?

Ok, loyal readers.....aka Grandmas, Aunties from Wisconsin, and Fabulous Bismarck friends, you have one day left to vote on whether you think this little one will be needing all new clothes or can recycle her sisters gently used old ones:)  Tomorrow (Friday) we have an ultrasound and if you remember, we may be lucky enough to  a peak at baby's gender.  We'll keep you posted!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

We had a very nice and quiet night at home with all three of this Valentine's Day.  It was another out of the ordinary Tuesday where Dan didn't have meetings!  He surprised me by sneaking up to St. Cloud and getting me my favorite Chinese food.  Can I tell you, that was the best Valentine's Day surprise/gift for this pregnant girl could ever wish for?  Loved it!  Svea entertained us like always, but we mostly played with her generic Lego Blocks.  Here's a video from a few days back of her playing with her "horse".  Yes, I know, we call it a horse:) eric

And I can't forget, Happy Belated Valentine's Day to Hallmark!  I'm sure they had a lovely love affair yesterday with all of the money they raked in:)

Our Little Reader

I caught these of Svea the other day when we got home from daycare.  She was enthralled with her book the whole way home while she head bobbed to music in the car.  That's my girl...I love that she loves to read dance...and sometimes at the same time!

Wisconsin Dells With the Dornfelds

We met up with Dan's family at Three Bears Lodge outside of Wisconsin Dells.  I lied we weren't quite there, but somewhat close and with the same idea;) So I don't have a ton of pictures, but I did snap a few of Svea  playing in the water.  As for the other kids they were hard to spot as they were moving everywhere! 

 Lots of pictures here...She was only in the water for about thirty minutes tops.

 But, I couldn't just pick a few.  She was SO cute in her little blue tutu swimsuit:)

 At first she was afraid and would just hold onto our necks, but then she warmed up to it and just wanted to play and walk around in the water.

 It looks like she's crying here, but she's squealing in delight and hugging me tight around the next for about a minute.  She just kept doing that. 

 Then she'd want down again to try out the water some more.  Then more hugs and repeat!

 Then her lips started turning blue and shivering so we had to get her out.

The rest of the weekend we all got beat at a board game by Stuart, Dan wouldn't let me go to bed because he was too competitive, but we lost anyway, and we had actual home cooked food..yum!  We don't get that at our house:)  It was a great weekend and now we are exhausted!  Svea went to bed early and Dan and I aren't too far behind her:)

15 Weeks With Baby D #2

How Far Along:15 Weeks!

Total Weight Gain: 3.5 lbs.

 Maternity Clothes:Yes, the belly band has not been my friend this time around.  I think it's because I was wearing completely different clothes with it last time as it was springtime.  With my winter dress pants it's SO uncomfortable, so I've gotten out some pants, however my regular jeans still fit me...go figure:)  I'm still wearing my own shirts although I've found they just make me look fat.  Pregnancy shirts with the ruching on the side look much cuter so I'm getting some of my old ones back from Megan this weekend.

Best Moment this week: Feeling baby move for sure!  Almost everyday I've felt the tiniest little movement from this baby.  Usually I have to be all curled up on the couch or laying flat on my back at night.

Gender: It's a boy...I can feel it, but we may get to find out next week.  If not, stay tuned until March 16th.

Movement: Yep, about a week earlier than I did with Svea.

Food Craving: Chinese food, Cheerios, and Sweet Tarts.  Odd combinations I know!

What I miss: Nothing:)

Sleep: Pretty good with the occasional bout of insomnia, which is so weird for me!

What we are looking forward to: Possibly finding out what baby is.

Symptoms: Gaggy from certain smells (Dan this is not to be confused with feeling like you are going to throw up/nauseous/they're different:), tired, but thinking I am getting energy back, and peeing a lot during the day and once at night.

Whiles Mommy is Away Daddy and Svea Will Play

 So, for the second time of Svea's life Mommy is away for a few days and nights. I am at a work conference "up north".  It was a fiasco to get here, but what should have taken me just under two hours turned into a little over four:)  Long story short I got a flat tire (in St. Cloud thank goodness) and my knight in shining armour left the superbowl party he and Svea were at to come and rescue me by putting on a donut and then trading vehicles with me.  Lynda, our daycare provider, was also at this party so what better person for her to be with.  Apparently she didn't even notice either of us were gone as they had a "puppy".  Who knew canines trumped parents at times:)  Here's Svea before I left yesterday either claiming ownership of my bags or protesting that I was leaving. 

She was so cute when I left blowing me kisses and giving me big hugs.  I love the fact that when we leave she doesn't cry.  We just tell her good-bye and she, very loudly, just yells, byyyyyeee!  So cute!  It's fun to hear that when I'm gone she repeats my name a lot.  She does the same with Dan too, but I didn't know she did this with me:)  Daddy and Svea had a rough night last night, probably from getting out of her regular routine and staying up a little later, so pray that they both get better sleep tonight!

14 Weeks with Baby D#2

We are at fourteen weeks! We have had no internet since Friday morning so I meant for this post to come out much sooner! Things are going well so far.  I'm still pretty tired, but I think it may be lifting.  I was actually able to stay up past 10:30 the other night watching a movie.  As you can see I have a little something going on, but not too much.  I"m still in the stage of just looking like I put on some weight if you didn't know I was pregnant.  I've been listening to baby's heartbeat almost every day and things sound great.  My dr. is going to watch me a little closer this time since Svea came so early.  We'll have an ultrasound in two weeks to check on things.  If we're lucky we might find out the gender as that is the earliest you can start finding out (16 weeks).  We'll see if we get an ultrasound tech who will take a peak.  If not we'll have to wait until March.  Other than that there isn't much to report, which is a good thing!

What We Did Tonight

We were very crabby so we came straight home and had a nap!

We ate supper!

We missed church because I napped, but that's ok because I needed it!

We colored and I was good, I didn't try to eat the crayons this time!

I took a bath and splashed and giggled with all of my toys!

I played in the closet with kitty!

I put my pajamas on and read books.  Right now I'm slowly putting myself to sleep in my crib, but that's ok too because maybe I'm waking up in the middle of the night because I forgot how to do this?  This is good practice:)

Hopefully if you're reading this right now, I slept all the way through the night without a two hour wake-time!
