Mother's Day Weekend 2015

These two made me a mom and I couldn't be more thrilled to have them! I also couldn't be more proud!  I just love them so much for who they are and love walking this journey as a parent helping to guide and support them while they are young. I wish I could just freeze time.  They are my heaven on earth:) I love our family so much!
We had a full weekend!  It was fun to have my mom down for the weekend and spend time with her.  Svea is always asking me if Gaga can come over and Dan and I leave so that she can babysit them:)  Dan flew in from Florida late Friday night where he was at a church conference.  He met a couple more pastors in the area that are younger and he hit it off with.

It was the marathon weekend so I had my relay team plus one of our teammate's neighbors over for a spaghetti dinner.  Mom helped watch the kids so I could cook and it was awesome to just relax and hang out in our kitchen that fits everyone!  I love entertaining at our house.  I still don't feel 100% comfortable cooking for people, but I love having them over!

We had our relay run on Saturday and it was a blast.  Krsita, Mindi, Kelly, and I each had 5.5-7.8 miles to run each.  I had gone on a handful of training runs and didn't surpass 3.3 so I figured I'd need to do some walking.  The adrenaline that carries you through worked though and I managed to do 6.75 miles without stopping.  I LOVED the crowds...they were so much fun!  Mindi's husband, Mark drove us around from exchange point to exchange point with Starbucks in between!  Afterwards we ate and then got donuts.  I "overindulged" as far as what that means after running that far and my body not being used to it. I had one drink with lunch and a bunch of crappy food and was completely wrecked for the rest of the day. I guess I am not 22 anymore:)

Mother's day we went to church, I taught Sunday School, Svea had her last Sunday School, Svea sang at both services and I have to be honest.  It was VERY overwhelming and not relaxing and fun at all!  No more volunteering for the last session of Sunday School.

I always want to see my mom on Mother's Day so I was glad she was there. I keep trying to think of ways to show or do something for my mom that would show her just how much she means to me, but I can never think of anything big enough that would convey that.  I just love and appreciate her so much!

It was a hard weekend to leave behind because it was so much fun.  Monday was super depressing and also the start of a week long downpour.  It's still raining as we speak.  Tomorrow it's finally going to be over.  I can't wait!
