16 Months Old

Clothes:Size 12-18 months.  You have graduated from your 9 month pants and into 12 month pants...yeah!  You can wear 18 month tops, but they are a bit big. You are still in size 12 month jammies.
Shoes: size 3 shoes
Diapers: size 4

Sleep:You are still sleeping about 12 hours from 7 pm.-7 am.  If we can hold you off at night you will sleep in later. You love sleep and are a decent napper and make no fusses going down for at either time to sleep. You will nap anywhere from 45 min to 3 hours, with 2.5 as your normal amount. You love it sleep! Daddy gave you a new nickname this month of the "the hurricane".  You are so busy you need to do some re-charging!

Teeth: 8 Teeth (two bottom/four top)  You got your top two 1st year molars this past month, which have made for a few tough nights.  Sometimes you just cry out in your sleep and don't actually wake up all of the way.

Traveling: We didn't go anywhere this month except for a couple of trips up to St. Cloud for your dr. appt. and your sister's 3 year old pictures.
Talking:New words you have added this month are no, nooooo, and noh.  These are all referenced and used against your sister or when Mom and Dad try to put on your socks.  You added some new animal sounds and like to throw up your hands and make a funny sound for elephant.  You are pretty good at getting down the correct sounds for duck, cat, dog, elephant, cow, and possibly sheep.  You sign for "more" and "milk" and we are working on water and please.

Favorite Activity: reading books.  this is by far your favorite.  When you are not being a hurricane and into everything you are plopped down on the floor looking through and reading books to yourself.  When you are not doing that you are bringing us books and plopping yourself down into our laps for us to read to you. Other games you like to play are kitchen, dollhouse, and this ball toy that zig zags it's way down an obstacle course. Favorite Books:Your have quite a few, but right now your all time favorite is The Little Red Engine.  It is a Little Golden book with quite a bit of words per page, but you'll sit for that.  Other than that you like shorter books with great pictures and something that has a rhyme to it.  Sandra Boynton books you'll usually sit for and just like your sister you love 10 in a Bed!

Favorite Foods: Dried peas, peanut butter bread, greek yogurt, and applesauce.  You are going to be a bland eater or picky or something.  You surprise us sometimes with what you will eat, but mostly you are pretty finicky.

Foods Disliked: Sweet Potatoes!
Favorite Songs: I wouldn't say you like any one song in particular, but you do LOVE to dance.  Even if there isn't any music playing and we ask you to dance you stop mid stride and start dancing....which is you marching in place with a goofy grin on your face!

Dislikes:When your sister tackles you back after you do this to you.  You think it is SO FUNNY to do to her, but the reciprocal is disliked:) You also are not a huge fan of when you are tired.  You are so mellow, but if you get tired you are pretty vocal about it.

Favorite Word: Mum, mum, mum....and DAaaaaah! You are saying words, but we can't always make them out yet.  I think you know and say a lot more words than we think you do.

Things we are learning: How to point and ask for things you want and humor.  You know that certain things you do will make us laugh and you ham it up as much as you can.  When I took your pictures for this post, as soon as you saw the camera you tilted your head back a bit, squinted your eyes, and got your goofy grin on your face again.  You just love to laugh!
