14 Months Old

Happy 14 months old little guy!  You are doing very well and continue to be happy and healthy!  You are starting to develop a sense of humor and are obsessed with books, turning the pages on them, and reading them to yourself.  You get "snarky" as I like to call it from time to time when you don't get your way, but you usually get over whatever is upsetting you pretty quickly.  People still comment on how mellow you are.  Larry, from next door, still asks us all of the time if you "are always like that"?  Meaning you are quite calm whenever he sees you and you are around other people. The next two pictures are examples of the "snarky" look:)

You wear size 12 month clothes and are in 12 month jammies.  You are little just like your sister.  We'll find out next month your height and weight.  A majority of 12 month pants don't fit you and we roll them many times. You wear size 4 diapers day and night and we stopped nursing this month...or literally just a few days ago.  When Mom left for the cities the other weekend we didn't nurse for two nights.  I came home and we did for two more nights, but there just wasn't anything left.  It was an easy ween for you too just like your sister.  We should both be thankful for that:)  I loved that time with you though and will miss it.  You are eating three meals a day, a couple of snacks, and you drink milk and water.  You JUST learned how to sign for milk and more.  Just like that you went from no signs to those:)  You also started blowing us kisses tonight before bed.  You seriously make our hearts melt:)

You are saying a few words, but basically the ones that you always have.  You call Mom/Mum and Dad/Dah.  This month you started to say, "Uh-oh" and we just love it.  I think you are saying more words because we will hear consistent sounds from you, but we can't quite make out what they are yet:)

 You sleep in your room from about 7:30 p.m. until 7:00-8:00 a.m.  You FINALLY started sleeping through the night consistently at 13.5 months!  The choirs sang!  I was so thankful you finally did before your overnight date with Jackie, your sitter, while Mom and Dad were at the wedding. You are napping anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours each day. The only reason you sleep less is if you wake up and you poop.  Your normal is about 2.5 hour naps and you are a well rested boy when you do that! At night we snuggle, drink cow milk, read a few books, sing and pray, and then we lay you down in your crib awake.  You like to talk to your pacis or look at your music player before drifting off.

You love to play and look through books, play with guys, push your sister's baby stroller, play with the red car outside, and get into whatever your sister is up to. One other funny thing you do when you read through books is babble to yourself and nod your head.

Here are a couple more random things you are doing!
-when Lynda peaks in on you at daycare when you take an nap you see her and flip over right away and lay down.
-you love to pet the Meeko although it makes us nervous

-When we ask you questions now you will actually shake your head yes or no and not at random.  We can tell you are actually comprehending what we are asking.  You even seem to have a sense of humor and will shake your head yes and when we say, "really"??? you smile and shake your head the other way.

We love you little man SO much!  We are so blessed to have you in our lives!
