Big Pine Preview

A couple of weeks ago my extended family received the opportunity that none of us ever thought would happen.  The Carter family cabin that had to be sold 13 years ago came into the hands of some new owners.   Long story short my co-worker Amy is our old neighbor and asked them for us.  For 3 blissful days in July we got to experience old childhood memories with the next generation.  I thought I'd feel a little sad, but I felt nothing but.  It was three days of just joy in watching our kids play and do all of the things that I did growing up.  The feeling you get when you step out of the car at the lake is one of just pure relaxation and contentment.  I feel incredibly blessed to not only get to go back there and see it, but to live it and breathe it and feel and experience all of it.  We lived in the water and did much more too.  I'll post soon on what a wonderful weekend it was.  Dan even made it out for a day and night and it was fun to share it with him too.
This is what the lake is supposed to be to me.  Spending quality time with your family doing quality activities.  Relaxing by the water, playing and swimming with the kids.  Visiting with the neighbors, smiling at God's beauty and thanking him for the ability to appreciate it for what it really is.  It's about relaxing with your family.....about showing your selfless love for each other by just being present, in the moment, and committed to building healthy experiences and relationships with each other.  The weekend was perfect! Thank you God for this gift!
