Svea-you are 2 1/2 and you celebrated your half birthday with Gaga as your half birthday is always her actual birthday. You are wearing 2T clothes, size 4 diapers/5 at night and some days interested in using the potty and other days not. I tried to weigh and measure you at home. I think you are about 34 inches tall (grown almost 2 inches in six months) and weight approximately 27 lbs (gained 2.5 lbs in six months). Your hair is still curly especially on the ends and when you sweat or it gets humid there are curls all over. You finally have hair long enough to put in a pony tail or pigtails. You like pigtails the best!
You sleep from approximately 8 pm-7am in the morning. Bedtime has become a struggle at our house about 2 months ago. You just don't seem to want to go to bed and miss whatever is going on. You love to play and go, go, go. You were napping really well at Lynda's though....until the last two days. Mommy looked in your mouth tonight and found your first two-year old molar. Hopefully this isn't causing you too much pain, but could be the reason to some of your irritability at times. Or, it could just be that you're two:) You've started to pretend and imagine a ton more. At times you've told us you are scared of this or that. It's so hard because you can't quite articulate all of your feelings and we are left guessing. We hate it that you might be scared, but don't know how to tell us.
You are becoming a better eater and liking more things. You love saltine crackers, fruit, and flinstone vitamins! You talk in complete sentences and say anywhere from 2-10 word sentences. You pick up on everything and are learning new things everyday. We are working on mostly social skills right now. Sharing, being kind to your brother, talking polite, etc. You are empathetic and if one of us stubs our toe you will come and comfort us. We need to start empathizing with you more when you get hurt though....you hit me in the head with Abby Cadabby the other day and when I told you that hurt you just patted me on the back and said, "You're ok Mommy"!
You still love to sing everything and anything and make up songs as you go with lyrics that go along with what you are doing. "We are driving to our house, we are driving to our house". It's finally nice outside and we've been on three walks. You get very excited to go and talk the whole way. "Hi everybody, we're going on a walk," you'll say. You say HI to all the people you see and tell them, "See you later"! We think you may not be a shy person:)
You still love to color, read, play babies, play dough, play with your guys, pretend (bears, animals, Emily Elizabeth from Clifford). You go to bed with an entourage consisting of Minnie Mouse, Big Abby Cadabby, Little Abby Cadabby, Bunny, and our blanket. Some days you like to pick out your own clothes. You are possessive over Kieran if other people hold him.
One of our favorite things you do is you'll crawl up on the couch and ask us to, "come snuggle with me". Yes, yes, yes, is always the answer since we get so few snuggles from you now that you are so busy. We love you Svea Grace. You make life brighter, more fun, wonderful, and happy.
