Fargo Marathon

This guy ran the WHOLE marathon like this in 38 degree weather and yes, there are shorts under his little yellow bath towel. You might have to click on this picture to get a better view.

Emily, my cousin Jill, and my cousin-in-law Cindy after the 5K

After the race and ready to eat!

Well, we survived parts of the Fargo Marathon. Run a whole marathon? Not possible with my genes, but some we did! Mom did the 5K and I did the 4 man relay. For not training very much, since Jamestown has been a swamp town, my Mom did awesome. My leg was 5.5 miles and I was third. I ran from the Fargodome down to I-94 through the residential sections mostly. The coolest thing I saw while I ran was a man, standing at the edge of his driveway, dressed like Elvis, singing karoke.......you couldn't help but laugh...but then focus again so your breathing wouldn't get off and you'd get a side ache. My goal was to make it and I did! It was so much fun to be a part of the whole day with 10,000-11,000 other people. There were 4,500 people in my mom's race alone! The weather wasn't the best, but at least it wasn't windy.....that was a relief! Next time....maybe farther? Probably not, but I'd do what I did again. I'd put a picture on here of our team, but I have THE BIGGEST bags underneath my eyes. Going to bed around 2 every night frantically trying to work away my grief about Suki did not prove well for my eyes! It's really quite scary.
